In this PMJAY scheme candidates need to fit in the eligibility criteria which is different for Rural and Urban areas.
The Eligibility criteria for the Rural area are-
- Candidates who have only one roof with Kucha walls will only be able to get the benefit of this scheme.
- In the family there should be no adult age member should be there which should be 16 to 59 years old.
- There should be no adult male present in the family of age between 16 to 59 years.
- Disabled people and the no-able-bodied adult member of the rural area will be able to get the benefit of this scheme.

- Candidate should be Transport worker, Driver, Conductor, Helper to drivers and conductors, Cart puller, and a Rickshaw puller.
- The candidate should be a Shop worker, Assistant, Peon in a small establishment, Helper, Delivery assistant, Attendant, or Waiter.
- The candidate should be an Electrician, Mechanic, Assembler, and Repair worker.
