1. Candidates must have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates).
2. There is no age limit for the Kerala SET Exam.
3. Candidates must be Indian citizens.
4. Candidates who have qualified for the NET (National Eligibility Test) or SET (State Eligibility Test) or SLET (State Level Eligibility Test) or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
5. Candidates who have cleared the UGC/CSIR JRF exam before 1989 are also eligible for Kerala SET Exam.
