Eligibility Criteria for Indian Administrative Service Exam 2024

  1. Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  2. Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years of age on the 1st of August of the year in which they are applying for the exam. There is age relaxation for certain categories of candidates like OBC, SC, ST, PwD, etc.
  3. Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of India.
  4. Number of Attempts: Candidates are allowed to take the exam a maximum of 6 times for General and 9 times for the OBC category.
  5. Physical Fitness: The candidate should be physically and mentally fit as per the rules and regulations of the Civil Services Examination.
  6. Fees: The fees for the UPSC IAS Exam are INR 100 for General and OBC category candidates and INR 0 for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates.
  7. Selection Process: Selection to the IAS is based on the candidate’s performance in the Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Candidates who clear the Preliminary Exam are eligible to appear for the Main Exam. Candidates who clear the Main Exam are eligible to appear for the Interview. How to Apply Online for UPSC IAS Recruitment 2024?

  1. Visit the official website of UPSC Recruitment (www.upsc.gov.in).
  2. Click on the “Apply Online” link on the homepage.
  3. Click on the “Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination” link.
  4. Read the instructions and guidelines carefully before proceeding.
  5. Click on the “Part I Registration” button to register for the exam.
  6. Fill in the required personal and educational details and upload the necessary documents like photographs and signatures.
  7. Submit the registration form and note down the registration ID for future reference.
  8. After successful registration, candidates will be directed to the “Part II Registration” page.
