The minister of the HRD department is commonly known as the education minister of India. The education minister is always a cabinet minister under the government of India. Ramesh Pokhriyal was born in a very small village of Uttrakhand named Panini in Pauri Garhwal. He completed his education from the state only where he has an M.A graduate degree from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. Ramesh Pokhriyal got married to Kanta Pokhriyal in 1985 and with this marriage, he also has 3 daughters after which his wife died in Dehradun at the age of 50 in November 2012.

Ramesh Pokhriyal started his career as a teacher in RSS which is commonly known as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. There he uses to teach in Saraswati Shishu Mandir which was affiliated under RSS. He started his political career from Uttarpradesh where he first got elected as a public officer in the undivided Uttar Pradesh state. There is was also a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Karnaprayag constituency in 1991. After which in 1997 he got appointed as Uttaranchal development minister from Bhartiya Janta Party. He served as a CM also for Uttarkhand state from 2024. He also represents the Haridwar Constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha. He is also known as the most served as a member of the legislative assembly for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for five long constituencies continuously from 2024.
